MySpace Celebrity…

Music, Myspace, Twirlit, music videos

Uh..random. So, I’ll be Editing the new MySpace Celebrity site… psyched to work with Sean Percival, who used to attack me with the Flip Mino before I learned how to use it to my own advantage. Muhwahwa! Here’s an old skool video of me and Sean at docstoc, our old haunt! (BACK IN JULY 2008!!!) Geez, time has flown by and by the way, that little office holds lots of memories of stumbling, digging, Techcrunch, learning how to blog, and of course, learning all about DOCUMENTS! By the way, that fax machine HATED me and always caused issues! Technology hates me…I’m convinced.

Psyched to see what cool stuff we’re gonna do over at MySpace Celebrity. PAYCE!

Also, I couldn’t resist embedding this interview with my dear buddy, Ilya, a developer who literally is the funniest person ever. Dude used to scare me until one morning, I went into work and he was blasting the Mike Jones song, “Back Then,” so loud that the room almost shook. Then I thought to myself, “Dude is cool. We can now be friends.” Dirty South!

If You Work Hard and Are Kind, Amazing Things Will Happen

LA, Music, Twirlit, comedy, hollywood

My heart is saddened by Conando leaving “The Tonight Show,” as I grew up watching him. His self-deprecating, hilarious, smart, and kind nature have always been the reasons why I tuned in since the days when I was a pimply-faced teenage girl who would get in trouble for watching his show. I’ll always be down for Team Coco/Conando and will follow you wherever you go. (FOX)
im-with-coco
I particularly loved this quote from his last show,
“All I ask is one thing particularly of young people that watch, please do NOT be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, its my least favorite quality. It doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and are kind, amazing things will happen. I’m telling you, amazing things will happen. Its true.”

And I’m in full-on Conan mode, so check out this speech he gave at his alma mater..Harvard. OMG. HILARIOUS.

Twirlit Interview with Robyn Ward about Intensati and Entrepreneurship

Twirlit, Videos, Web

Robyn Ward, a former investment banker and entrepreneur, had been a runner for many years and then discovered Intensati, a mind/body exercise from founder Patricia Moreno, who developed the program after recovering from bulimia and compulsive exercising. Intensati is known to be an intense exercise combined with positive affirmations and motivational words that are designed to shape up your body and spirit. And Robyn was hooked.

So how do you describe Intensati? Well, you’re in class with a bunch of other people in various yoga poses, while shouting all positive words from “I am strong!” to “I am worth it.” Now before you start rolling your eyes, you have to understand that Intensati is sweeping the nation.

I spoke with Robyn about what made her bring this intense practice from NYC to Los Angeles. Here’s what she had to say:

Regular West LA Tuesday night classes are at 6:45pm at FitDimensions (11980 San Vincente in Brentwood) You can also e-mail Robyn at robyn.m.ward@gmail.com for more information.

2 Auditions, Generosity Water Interview, and Meeting with the Tsavo Crew

Acting, Twirlit

Yesterday I started my day with an early work-out which was all done to the soundtrack of Michael Jackson. I love to zone out while watching the day’s early morning news which was all dedicated to MJ and the Neverland Ranch. I’m still in shock by the news and still can’t stop listening to my favorite MJ songs..
1) Man in the Mirror
2) Rock my World
3) Billie Jean

I’m sorry but these songs are SICK! Love them.

I had couple of TV auditions today and feel like I’m getting back in the groove again after feeling out of the loop. Will obviously keep you posted if I book something…hopefully!

And met with our Editorial team at Tsavo for our weekly meeting and we interviewed Jordan D Wagner, Executive Director for Generosity Water, a non-profit whose main goal is to build wells in Africa, South America and Asia. So far, they’ve helped build 50 wells this year which is bringing water to 28,000 people who will now be able to drink clean, fresh water when previously they would have to drink fetid water that would bring disease and in many cases, death.

Twas a great interview! And shout out to my good friend Serena Ehrlich, PR Superstar, for all of your help in the past couple of weeks. You’re awesome.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

Artist Spotlight: Brantley Gutierrez

Twirlit

Aysha Manori, our Photo editor, let me know about Brantley Gutierrez, a photographer who still shoots on film and didn’t exactly think he’d be where is right now.  Gutierrez started off as a photog for skateboarders and now shoots the likes of the Foo Fighters, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney.

A picture says a thousand words, right?  More like a million.  Anyway, check out some of the pics he’s taken below and also our Twirlit video interview! What a cool guy.

And..this is a pic of Brantley and myself at his Hidden Images show (I’m the only weirdo who likes to drink Starbucks at an art show..lol)

Uh…I’m the New Editor of Twirlit.Com

Twirlit

Hey guys,

kat-with-fork
So, Wow…first just wanted to let you guys know that I’ve been made editor of Twirlit, that Women’s fashion/beauty/lifestyle blog that I’ve been blogging so much about lately. I’m so excited to be working with Sean again, along with Aysha Manori, our Photo Editor/Creative Director and Tsega Dinka, Senior Web Designer and DP/Shooter.

Our Creative team over at Tsavo has been working really hard to make the sites we work on from Twirlit to Kidglue to Manolith,  look good, have great content, and of course provide value for our readers.  They’re all amazing, fab, and I couldn’t have done all this without them. Literally.

We really appreciate all the support and thanks Sean for the intro. I’ve worked with Sean for a while now and he’s basically been the one to teach me about blogs, html, and basically every single annoying question there is. THANK YOU FOR PUTTING UP WITH MY QUESTIONS!!! LOL.

Don’t worry…I’m still pursuing my other goals, but this is probably the best day job I’ve ever had. I’m super excited to be working with new writers and working with our Creative team to carve out a unique voice for our site.

Peace out,
Kat :)
