RIP Michael Jackson, the King of Pop

breaking news

We’ve all heard the story by now about the death of Michael Jackson, the reigning King of Pop, who had such an extensive musical history of number one hits and who has show business in his blood.

I remember watching “Black or White,” on MTV at my cousin’s house (b/c we weren’t allowed to watch cable at my own house) and thinking that it was one of the coolest videos ever because the point of the song was that it doesn’t matter what race you are, your ethnic background, religion, whatever…

It made me smile because I would watch the news and think, “Unfortunately, that’s all people actually care about even if they say it doesn’t matter,” and then there was this song that was like, “Nope, it just matters who you are on the inside.”

I probably read WAY too deep into that, but it was a song that always stuck with me.

The world has lost a true artist.  RIP Michael Jackson. BTW, this is one song that I also really adored from him, “Man in the Mirror.” He’s the one musical artist that my Mom and I both adored. She was more of a “Thriller” gal while I thought that music video was genius but extremely scary.

ABC with the Jackson 5

And “I’ll be there.” LOVE THIS SONG.

Agreed… I read a lot about him today and there was one quote about how he felt happiest when he was in the studio making music or on stage. He used music as an escape from all of his problems and pain. At least we all know that he is at peace now. That makes me very happy.
