Shooting these videos are really fun and creative. I get to work with our ridiculously awesome team with Sean (though he’s more in the Office now and is with us in spirit) and Tsega Dinka, our Senior Web designer, and Aysha, who is the Art/Creative Director for our shoots.
Here’s Tsega..who was the Director/Shooter/DP of the day
We shot a video with Nikki, or “NY Knockout,” of Fog City Wrestling, a Wrestling Promotion company in San Francisco, at Santa Monica beach and she was nice enough not to kick my ass.
She offered to lift me up and then do a bodyslam, but I politely declined saying, “Uh…no thanks. You can mime it though.”
Here’s Nikki/NY Knockout (her wrestler name)
Here’s me and Nikki striking a pose.
Another pic
Fog City Logo Sweatshirt that she was sporting…
And more cool pics and the actual video interview coming soon on Manolith!!! And girlatastartup, of course. Note: There will be embarrassing pics of me trying to be a wrestler. Uh….
Hey all, so I still live in the dark ages and listen to the Radio when in my little car. And one of the radio shows that I listen to is the “Steve Harvey Morning Show,” which is played on 93.5 FM here in Los Angeles. He’s quite funny and inspirational to listen to in the morning when you’re trying to wake up. He’s also written a New York Times bestseller called, “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.” Some good advice/knowledge in here for all you ladies out there. Here’s the whole post I wrote for Twirlit.
How fabulous are these two? They’re one of my favorite couples in the world of Tech and you know, I used to work with Sean and now I work with him again at Tsavo. Laurie runs Lalawag, LA’s tech gossip site, and they’ve just been profiled in LA Weekly. Props.
Here’s a video interview I did with Sean back in the days when we worked together at docstoc.
It’s really late as I blog right now and its really hot here in LA. The weather has been so strange lately, as a few days ago, I felt as though I was in Philly as it was ridiculously cold. (okay, maybe not THAT cold, but I do believe that your blood thins out when you move out West) Anyway, we started a video series for Twirlit, that will focus on fashion/beauty tips and also will feature people who will be able to hopefully provide you with useful/Entertaining content.
Our first shoot was with Verabella Salon in Beverly Hills, and that will be blogged later as the video for that shoot posts this week on the site and on my blog. (Of course!)
So…today, Sean Percival (content mgr at Tsavo and Master of SEO) and I were at Fairfax Flea Market to find a few examples of how Los Angelenos put together their style, even amidst this recesssion.
This is me pretending to be Kanye West with his plastic rimmed glasses. I definitely need to get a new pose. Any suggestions?
Here’s Sir Percival himself. We used to cause trouble when we worked together back in the day…haha. I also forced him to make this peace sign.
This band played a good set, providing background music at the flea market.
And… many deals were to be had. Recession Special example #1.
This shoot was really fun and we ended up meeting some interesting style subjects including a Pop star from Sweden. No joke. Keep a look out for an upcoming video post and more cool stuff from the Twirlit/girlatastartup Video series!
It’s fun to write for a guy’s site, just to give advice about Style or write about Entertainment or Sports. Shopping with guys is especially fun because it usually takes a LOT less time and you can be their stylist because they’re usually always down for Style advice. Anyway, here are some recent posts: STYLE TIPS FOR YOU DUDES- Self-explanatory, but a few simple tips for guys on how to achieve their individual style.
JORDAN’S SON WINS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP- Michael Jordan is the best Professional basketball player that ever lived, in my opinion. Will his son continue the greatness?
My name is Kathrien Ahn (yes, this is the correct spelling of my name) and I started this blog because I was the only female working at this tech start-up and needed a creative outlet. I'm a Content Producer for MySpace Celebrity, former Editor of Twirlit and writer for Manolith. Glad you stopped by the blog, and hope that it provides you with some laughs, inspiration or amusement. I am OBSESSED with music. Old skool hip-hop/R&B are bomb and I think Snobs/people with big egos are uber annoying. Ya heard? (I try to avoid them as much as possible)
