Listening to Mark Salling’s ‘Pipe Dreams’ at the BBM Lounge

October 23, 2010 in blogs, Events

Even though I don’t really frequent the Hollywood club scene, I made an exception to attend the BBM/Mark Salling Record release party. (I’m such a homebody normally…) Anyway, thanks to Monique, Gipson, Jenna and the American Pop Digital team for inviting me to Mark Salling’s Record release party for his new album, “Pipe Dreams,” out in stores on October 25th, 2010. If you don’t know who Mark Salling is, then you need to start watching one of the best shows currently on TV right now. “GLEE,” of course!

Mark plays “Puck,” the frat-boyish, jock with a soft side, who gets Quinn pregnant and is known for busting out an achingly sweet rendition of “Sweet Caroline.” I met him at the last BBM/Beso event and was surprised by how down-to-earth he was.

At the listening party, we got to hear two new tracks from his album, “Illusions” and “Pipe Dreams.” The last song was one that he dedicated to his mother and I videotaped a clip of it for your entertainment. The tracks had a country, twang-ish vibe to it, do you agree?
“Illusions”

And..”Pipe Dreams”

This is my purse which was filled to the brim with makeup, keys, camera, FLIP (I cannot live without you!) gum, mints. It kept falling open. The thing about being a blogger is that you are your own photographer, editor, videographer, and writer. You are like a one-stop shop for content and social media, ya heard?
The VIP badge. I felt cool for a night.
I’ve always been a fly-on-the-wall and though its corny, I love watching red carpet. Yeah, I know. Totally ridic.
Monique from American Pop Digital and me!
The rest of the American Pop crew including the fabulous Gipson.

It was a Hollywood club, so of course there was a pimp bed. I didn’t sit on it for fear of disease. I mean, who knows what went on there. It’s like the hook-up room on ‘Jersey Shore.’
And of course, the hot tub. So many scenarios probably went down in here, and I’m not sure I want to know about it…

All in all, a really fun time! And then she waited for her Toyota while everyone else got into their luxury vehicles…

A Little ‘Glee’ and Puck Action at Beso

September 23, 2010 in Acting, hollywood, Influencers, LA

Last night I ended up going to Beso for a BBM event and met Ashley of the cute fashion blog, Pursuit of Shoes, and um… we ended up meeting Mark Saling or “Puck” of my current favorite show, “Glee.” He was super down-to-earth, and was sporting that mohawk that LA guys seem to sport.

Here was the scene:
INT. BAR/RESTAURANT-NIGHT
Super crowded lounge filled with uber trendy people. Ashley and I spot Mark and immediately talk about our love of the show.
ME: OMG. Your rendition of Jigga’s “Empire State of Mind? was one of my favorite parts of the premiere.
MARK: Cool.
God, I’m cheesy. Whoops.

And next week is the infamous Britney episode and also…Paramore! DUDE..I’d love to guest-star on this show as the crazy Asian rap girl. Sigh. Check out the clip below.

That Adorable and Talented New Cast Member of ‘Glee’

September 22, 2010 in Videos

I LOVE ‘Glee.’ Not shocking :) Have you heard this amazing performance by teen Filipina songstress, Charice? She’s got some amazing pipes and some serious soul. WOW! I hope she can really break through to the American market because she’s already a youtube sensation and has made a splash with her new role on ‘Glee.’ Here is another track she performed with Iyaz called, “Pyramid.”

Glee Cast Version “Like a Prayer”

May 2, 2010 in Videos

Are you shocked at how much I love Glee? Singing. High school drama. Karaoke. (okay, maybe not karaoke). Kids being who they are no matter what anyone else says? Love it. Especially this “Glee” version of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.”

Karaoke Songs Used in Episode 2 of “Glee”…”Push It” and “Golddigger”

July 26, 2009 in Karaoke

I was reading this LA Times article about the “Glee” panel at this year’s Comic-Con. Apparently…they used two KICK-ASS songs in the next episode. Can’t wait!!

OMG! I love Glee!!! Shocking

May 27, 2009 in TV Show

It’s shocking how much I love Fox’s “Glee,” which combines, high school cliques, high school drama, songs, singing, outcast characters, and snarky writing. I’m in love.

In high school, Chorus class was my favorite and usually the other students would just do their homework during this class but I freaking loved it. Being a shy nerd, I used chorus/singing as a way to get out of my shell and sadly never tried out for any of the musicals. I was too scared that I would be laughed at/made fun of/ and also “the popular people,” always got the lead parts. Sad that I remember all this so clearly! LOL.

Anyway, watching this show really made me happy and I love that last quote,
“The only life worth living is one that you’re really passionate about.”
And I never thought I’d say this, but I love that over-karaoked song, “Don’t Stop Believin.” What happened to me? haha..
