People are interesting. I love people. I love to interview people because they are interesting. Here are all my interviews that I conducted via phone, IM, meebo, e-mail, or in person. The funniest thing about interviewing people is that sometimes you have a huge list of questions but then you end up asking completely random questions because when you talk to them, the vibe is different. The best interview subjects are the people that are the most genuine and care about other people, issues, and things besides themselves. Ya heard?

Talking Fashion with Laura Fuest- Executive Producer of ‘America’s Next Top Model’-‘America’s Next Top Model,’ is back and better than ever. This cycle is all about High Fashion including guest judges from Diane von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, Roberto Cavalli, and the chance to grace the cover of VOGUE Italia. I had a chance to speak with Laura Fuest, Executive Producer, of ‘Top Model’ about what this season has in store for viewers.

Interview with Meaghan Townsend, Founder/CEO of UpDog Yoga and Cycling- I met Meaghan when I first moved here to LA, and was struck by how happy she seemed about life and what she did for a living. She had the “I’m living my life’s purpose glow.” A the time, she was teaching yoga classes all across LA at various yoga studios and fitness clubs, but she always seemed to have a bigger plan in mind. And so it became her own yoga/spinning studio called UpDog Yoga and Cycling, located in the heart of West Hollywood, which is gaining quite a celeb following as well as mentions in VOGUE magazine and more. I spoke with my good friend/yoga guru/CEO and founder of Updog Fitness and Cycling, Meaghan Townsend, about yoga, fitness, and going for what you want in life.

Interview with Betsy Forhan, Executive Producer of MTV’s “True Life”-MTV’s “True Life,” has been around since 1998 and it is still one of the most compelling docu-series on TV with topics ranging from drug use, sexual addiction, body image issues, and social behaviors such as visiting the Jersey Shore or getting married. Considering the fickle nature of the MTV audience, it is almost unheard of for an MTV show to be on the air for 12 years and still be thriving. Oh, and did I mention that “True Life,” has won numerous awards including a 2008 Emmy Award for Best Special Class Series and the 2005 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Documentary? I had a chance to speak with Betsy Forhan, Executive producer of MTV’s “True Life,” about what makes the show so relevant to today’s audience, how she knew she wanted to be a producer, and of course, the scoop on this season’s upcoming episodes.

Shontelle Talks of the “Impossible,” Touring with Beyonce, and Rihanna Comparisons- You may have heard this ubiquitous song, “Impossible,” that is tearing up the Billboard charts, by the West Indian singer, Shontelle, who is a prolific songwriter and talented singer whose story is not a typical one. I had a chance to speak with Shontelle about impossible dreams, touring with BEYONCE (Yup, you read that right), working with everyone from songwriter Diane Warren to hit-making producer Sean Garrett, and of course, her advice to anyone out there with a dream.

Talking Marriage with David Armour and the Cast of “Married on MySpace”- You may have heard of “Married on MySpace,”, the very popular and hilarious web reality series that follows a young couple during their wedding plans. Well, there’s a catch, you see, as the MySpace community does ALL the wedding planning from start to finish. Viewers can follow the 2nd season of “Married on MySpace,” as the lucky couple Dehlia and Graeham go through all the ups, downs, and emotions of putting together a wedding. I had a chance to interview the lucky married couple to be, as well as chat with David Armour, producer of “Married on MySpace,” and VP of Endemol Digital Studios, about the popularity of this web reality series and why they think it has hit such a chord with audiences.

Interview with Alexis Bledel/Julio DePetrio of “The Good Guy”- With her hair pulled back into a bun, electric blue eyes and wearing a sleek peach H&M dress, Alexis Bledel has grown up quite a bit since her days as bookish Rory Gilmore of “Gilmore Girls” game. And in the new film, “The Good Guy,” she’s definitely ready to show the world that she’s no longer a Co-ed. I got a chance to sit down with Alexis Bledel and writer/director Julio DePeitro at some bougie Beverly Hills hotel to ask them about life, love, and uh…is it possible to find love in the Big City?

OK Go’s Tim Norwind Talks About Going the Indie Route- Whether you’ve seen the “Treadmill video,” checked out their latest single, “This Too Shall Pass,” (over 6 million youtube views!) heard that they’ve left EMI Music, or maybe read Damien Kulash’s New York Times Op-ed, pop rockers OK Go are currently being very googled or Youtube-ed. I had a chance to ask Tim Nordwind of OK Go a few questions about leaving the big, bad record label, fighting the good fight for bloggers who love their embed codes, and how the heck do they come up with these video concepts?!

Dr. Murad and Joan Lunden Tell Us How to Become the Best You- You may remember our “Fall Skincare Tips with Dr. Murad” video interview where the ever knowledgeable Dr. Murad, the world-renowned dermatologist, pharmacist and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA, and CEO of Murad Skincare Inc, informed us of ways we can combat skin aging and why you should EAT your water. Well, we were lucky enough to sit down with both Dr. Murad and Joan Lunden, the infamous media personality, former Good Morning America anchor, host of Lifetime’s “Health Corner,” and DIRECTV’s “Hometown Heroes,” creator of Camp Reveille, a women’s wellness retreat, and the face of Murad’s Resurgence skincare line, about Murad’s Inclusive Health Philosophy and how to create the best you ever!
Interview with Actress Brooklyn Sudano from MTV’s “Turn the Beat Around” MTV’s stepping up their scripted slate with the original movie, “Turn the Beat Around,” which premiered Feb 26th at 10 PM which is the story of Zoe, (Romina D’Ugo) a struggling dancer who is looking to make it big in the competitive City of Angels. This dance drenched original feature also stars newcomer Jason Derulo (of “Whatcha Say,” fame) as well as Brooklyn Sudano who most recently starred in ABC’s “My Wife and Kids,” and portrays the manipulative choreographer Malika in “Turn the Beat Around.” Did I mention the soundtrack also boasts tracks from Cobra Starship and Sing It Loud? I had a chance to chat with the uber-intelligent (The girl was a valedictorian!) Brooklyn Sudano about how she stays grounded in Hollywood, our mutual love of Kid Cudi, and her advice to anyone out there with a dream.

Backstage at America’s Best Dance Crew-From Season 5 of the uber-popular MTV show, “America’s Best Dance Crew,” I talked to the Atlanta crew “Royal Flush” about how they persevered after failing four times to make it to the Hollywood auditions for the show. And I have to say, I loved their enthusiasm and positive energy. Check out the video, and to catch more of these amazing dance moves, watch the show on Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT on MTV.

Talking to Liz Lee from “My Life as Liz”- MTV’s “My Life as Liz” starts off with the voice-over of angst-ridden Texas teenager Liz Lee saying “MTV made me do this.” Well, I’m sure that they didn’t force her to have her own show, but the concept of this show is refreshingly interesting. Granted, I graduated high school a while ago, but those pesky feelings of being an unpopular outsider haven’t exactly left me. I got a chance to speak with Liz Lee about our mutual distaste for Abercrombie &Fitch, the joy of not caring what people think and is this Cory Cooper person really a mean b*&*h?

Ben and Duncan Talk MTV’s “Buried Life”-You may have seen the commercials, ads, or billboards for MTV’s “The Buried Life,” where Duncan, Ben, Jonnie, and Dave created a concept of not only trying to find purpose for themselves by playing basketball with President Obama, visiting the Playboy mansion, kissing Megan Fox, participating in a Krump competition, but also helping to deliver a baby and helping strangers achieve something from their lists. These four guys made a promise to themselves that for every goal they achieve on their list, they would help a stranger do something on theirs. I talked to Duncan and Ben about what it took to really unearth “The Buried Life.”

Interview with Catelynn from MTV’s “Teen Mom”- In MTV’s “16 and Pregnant,” a docu-series which took us into the lives of Catelynn, Farrah, Amber, and Maci, teenage girls who let us see the hardships that go along with being super-young and pregnant. “Teen Mom” continues the story of these girls as they deal with adoption, school, parents and relationship issues, and it definitely doesn’t glamorize the realities and responsibilities of being a young mother. I recently spoke with Catelynn, who spent her Junior year pregnant with her daughter, Carly. She and her boyfriend Tyler chose a semi-open adoption where they are able to communicate regularly with Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa. Though their parents disapprove of their decision, Catelynn and Tyler are dealing with the everyday reality of their decision.

Interview with the Cast of ABC Family’s “Greek”- ( I produced this and the fabulous Amanda P hosted)
Amanda P and I went to the set of ABC Family’s “Greek” for which she was the host and I rocked my crew hat as producer/videographer. The cast members were really cool and down-to-earth. And Jacob (a.k.a Rusty) kept interrupting the interviews but he’s just adorable so we couldn’t get pissed at him.

Interview with Patricia Handschiegel, Founder of Stylediary.net and the 9 Group- She’s the founder of Stylediary.Net (sold on 2007) and the 9 Group, a digital consulting/production company. She has an extensive background in internet infrastructure, technology business, media and entertainment, and creates projects that bridge traditional TV/media channels with the web. I was fortunate enough to nab an interview with Tech/Entrepreneur/Fashion Rock Star, Patricia Handschiegel, via IM. She also covers Entertainment/Media business for Venturebeat, was an advisor to Kaboodle.com, and writes weekly blogs for TV Week, and the Huffington Post. Her “Power Girls” series has been getting a lot of traffic and is quite inspirational to read. The girl also has no problems rocking a pair of metallic gold Marc by Marc Jacobs boots while speaking at SXSW.

Interview with Film/Music Video Director Juan Carlos Mazorra-Juan Carlos Mazorra is a friend of mine from the days when I first started out in Entertainment, in New York City, where hustling (meaning working hard, not that other definition) is just a way of life. He’s an accomplished music video director with credits including, “New York,” by Ja Rule featuring Fat Joe and Jadakiss, to videos by Ashanti. Recently, he finished his feature directorial debut of “Children of the Killing Fields,” a full-length feature film about child trafficking and prostitution in Cambodia and the United States.

Interview with Mark de Barros of CommunityInAction.org- I first met Mark de Barros at a party and found out that he is the Assistant Director of a Non-profit called Community in Action, a non-Governmental Organization, that is located in one of the largest favelas (slums) of Rio de Janeiro. Their mission is to offer vocational and cultural classes for students of all ages by offering employment opportunities for actual residents to enact a long-term change for the entire community. Once we started talking about his work with this NGO, I definitely needed to get him on the blog.

Wise Words from Jeroen Bours, creator of the OPEN-American Express campaign and co-founder of the Darling Agency- I reached out to Jeroen Bours to find out his thoughts for remaining inspired and creative in the very rough Economic waters of 2009. This is what he said.
“When times are rough new art movements are born. Times were rough for Van Gogh. Times were rough when De Stijl emerged in Holland. Times were rough when the Bauhaus group was born. Times were rough in the sixties when modern art evolved into reactive art. And so on. Just think of that. The best poems are written out of suffering. Let’s make something of this time.”

Interview with Rick Kao, Designer, and Jackson Fu of Abakus TakeOut, a Philly Hip Hop Clothing Concept Store with Flava and Rubber Ducks- I’m kind of obsessed with hip hop from back in the day because my Dad used to blast hip hop at Street Blue, his hip hop clothing store on Germantown Ave in Philly. It was Power 99 FM all the way. And so, when I came across this Philadelphia Inquirer article about Abakus Takeout, I did a double take and of course, it was necessary for me to interview Rick Cao and Jackson Fu, who along with Ky, created this Ridiculously cool store.
Paying Attention to the Kids and Wise Words with David Travers from Rustic Canyon- When I worked at docstoc, I was lucky enough to get to know one of the VC’s, Dave Travers of Rustic Canyon who also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of LA’s Best Friends, a nationally recognized, after-school enrichment, educational, and recreational program that provides a safe haven for children, ages 5-12, after school, at no cost to the parents.
